Lists 12: Reasons to prefer a dance (type)

In the two lists, 12a and 12b, each reason is assigned to one or two of the six judgement groups that are introduced in the article Judgements about songs. Starting with Lists 10 and then Lists 11, if an assignment to one of the groups has not yet been explained, this explanation is given at the bottom of the list.

List 12a: Reasons to prefer a dance (type) to dance and to watch, Survey 1985/86.

No reason given: 15 and 14 respectively. No favourite dance: 55 and 56. ‘I do not dance’: 69 and 0.

d2     The variety can refer to the dance itself or to the way it can be performed better than others.

d15   Though comparable to d6, because of the mentioning of the masamba only changeable features are meant.
d23   It has the effect that I remember things. / It makes me feel joy or sorrow.

No reason given: 6 and 1 respectively. ‘I do not dance’: 8 and 1.
