Media productions in Zambia: Chibale

Media productions in Chibale, Zambia. In 2009, Lafenda Mpyakula, Benadi Mika and Alube Mika made the first media and digital music productions in Chibale. Also Byuti Male from Chibale and Prishila Mumba and Dauti Kalunga, from Muchinka’s, made their first productions in Chibale in 2009. By cycling through the region with a generator, a laptop and speakers the teams shared their work with the community.

One of these productions is Nine nika, I am the river, see Film 22 below, a short poetic documentary made by Benadi Mika and Byuti Male with music and sound by Alube Mika. When shown at the Ministry of Tourism and Arts in Lusaka, the viewers declared it ‘the most Zambian’ film they had ever seen.
The media and music productions were made in the framework of the Butala project.
