People in Chibale who contributed to the research

Many people have contributed to and co-operated in the research underlying this site. Those who contributed are mentioned in the acknowledgements. Here we present brief impressions of those who co-operated with their knowledge and skill, opening up their activities for the research, entering into dialogue, or undertaking research or development themselves. The first eight are the mediums who co-operated in the description of music and related dance, text, and ritual; these mediums possessed much more knowledge in this area than others in Chibale. They were also involved in the dialogues around the nature of music, dance and ritual and the importance of text. Other important individuals, not being mediums, who were involved include chief Chibale Teneshi Njipika Mukosha and Alube Mika. Basil Chisonta was involved in the research from the very beginning to the very end as co-researcher. Chief Chibale Joshua Chipolo, Alube Mika, and Basil Chisonta were involved in the Butala project, a project on local content creation, production, and distribution.
